ベトナムの社会と文化の複相性や文化的アイデンティティのありかたを
理解するうえで「女性」というテーマは重要な手がかりを提供する。今
回の研究大会では、2015年12月に刊行されたWeaving Women’s Spheres in Vietnam: The Agency of Women in Family, Religion and Community
（Kato Atsufumi ed., Brill, 2015）の合評会を開催する。この論集で
は、家族、宗教、共同体をテーマに、ベトナムの女性（およびベトナム
女性という表象）がどのようなかたちで私的領域と公的領域を再編成し
たり、ふたつの領域区分を流用したりしているのかについて、人類学と
社会学の視点から事例分析がおこなわれている。今回は寄稿者のうち3名
が登壇し、コメンテータや参加者を交えてディスカッションをおこなう。
